Suspended Bird-Figures

Fulfilling human dreams of flight, my first large suspended bird-figure was I Saw the Wind Within Her, which appears to soar like an airborne spirit, suggesting both presence and absence. The title comes from Emily Dickinson’s poem no. 1531 (Harvard edition). Voices of Longing presents a sequence of three figures of different sizes that move within architectural spaces.
